Voice from the Dust is blog touching on socio-politcal issues, faith, philosophy and humankind’s role in nature. The blog is managed by Steve James and features articles, memes, videos, pictures and other content from all over the internet. The purpose is to promote open dialogue and address today’s issues facing society, humanity and the family.

Why such a weird name?

The name of the blog pays homage to a biblical promise that God will bring the truth from the earth. The original passage refers to the coming forth of modern scripture, but also invokes pleas of repentance, change and new beginnings for all of us.

“And thou shalt be brought down, and shalt speak out of the ground, and thy speech shall be low out of the dust, and thy voice shall be, as of one that hath a familiar spirit, out of the ground, and thy speech shall whisper out of the dust.” – Isaiah 29:4

In addition to the scriptural allusions of the phrase, Voice from the Dust also carries an air of previous times, a charge to reflect on where we have been, in order to define where we are going.

Why so many topics?

This blog contains material related to a wide range of issues. Everything from contemporary political discourse to reflections on ancient writings, opinions on society at large and content designed to inspire positive change in all of us can be found here. In earnest, the main reason for this eclectic collection is that Steve is poor (or cheap) and has not the time, money nor inclination to manage different sites for each topic. However, the layout is intentional as well, with hopes that readers will venture between the topics in order to see how they are connected and be edified in multiple ways.

Can I publish on Voice from the Dust?

Certainly. This site is not meant to be simply the semi-coherent ramblings one writer. If you have an article, picture or video that you would like to share, reach out or leave a comment with your contact information.
